Mud Trucks
Monster truck exhibitions began to gain popularity along with mud bogging back in the 70's and 80's. Monster trucks were generally normal pickup-truck bodies mounted on large suspensions, and even larger tires.
More often than not, monster truck shows shows consisted of these trucks smashing cars.
While some events generally consisted of one monster truck on the course at a time, others paired up two trucks running along a symmetrical course. A more recent attraction that has been added to the monster truck lineup is freestyle racing. In the freestyle event, drivers may run their own course choosing which obstacles to avoid and which ones to destroy.
In 1988 the Monster Truck Racing Association was put together and is responsible for the rules keeping the drivers as well as the spectators safe.
Things have changed a lot since monster truck racing first began. Nowadays, monster trucks aren't really trucks at all. The only real reason that they continue to be called trucks at all is because of their fiberglass bodies. Today's monster trucks are made up of tubular chassis mounted onto a 4 link suspension that gives the trucks the capability of clearing obstacles up to 4 feet tall.
The engines that drive these monsters are mostly supercharged and alcohol fueled powerhouses measuring about 575 cubic inches in size, or 9.42 liters. The axles on these trucks are the same axles that are used on super-sized military equipment and/or road vehicles such as buses. All trucks are equipped with steering that operates both the front axle as well as the rear axle, also called 4 wheel steering. The tire size is around 66"x43"x25" and are run by custom automatic transmissions. For safety reasons, these trucks are equipped with 3 separate kill switches that will kill power to the truck.

What a big fuss about nothing! Surely it makes sense what the poster above me has said and that should be the end of it!
Owner manuals have always been freely available from bookshops and dealerships, as well as on the Internet, but the major problem has been that they tend to be pretty expensive. A new site that permits you to download them free of charge, however, means that you really don’t need to worry about the cost (which can often be as much as it costs to get a fault repaired, depending on the car you have).
